Starr Crest

Starr Crest Resort is a nicely situated resort offering good access all year round, close proximity to Dollywood and the Parkway action of Pigeon Forge, and yet hidden away on a forested ridge that offers superb views of the Smoky Mountains, including Mt. LeConte.

Starr Crest…Where Luxury Meets the Mountains.

With an entrance directly off a good road, the well maintained resort has wide paved roads and paved parking, and offers a seasonal swimming pool, free Wi-Fi, a children's playground and a picnic pavilion - all nice outdoor amenities without getting in the car.

Once in the car, however, the resort is close to the beautiful Gatlinburg Golf Course, and offers some handy back road connections to avoid a lot of the major traffic with a couple of minutes spent studying the area map.

Some of the cabins are situated to look down on parts of the Dollywood park, which is about 10 minutes away by car. Expect to see fireworks in the summer evenings from Dollywood's seasonal festivities. But the resort feels isolated and peaceful, comfortably settled amongst the trees, and with mountain views from the hot tub on the deck sensational enough to make true mountain memories.

Getting around from the resort is easy. The entrance is on Upper Middle Creek Road, a good east-west route. You can quickly connect with the golf course or the Dollywood entrance. You can branch off to Veterans Boulevard to head toward Sevierville and several attractions dotted in this area, or simply to escape to the north end of Pigeon Forge.

Alternately, you can jump on Teaster Lane and head up to The Island, and from there you can cut over to Wears Valley Road, which takes you into the Quiet Side of the Smokies, with beautiful scenic drives heading to Townsend and an entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Cades Cove.

All of this without spending time on Parkway, which is actually closest if you want to plunge into the strip action. From the resort entrance you can also go east and connect with Birds Creek Road, heading south close to numerous attractions, including the Arts & Crafts community.

This road lands on Hwy 321, which can take you east into the less visited - and wonderfully beautiful - end of the national park (Cosby, Greenbrier), or you can go west on what is actually Gatlinburg's East Parkway, feeding into countless attractions at the southern end of town, and the entrance to the park.

Those were two wide loops to avoid the central crush of Parkway in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. See our guides to Getting Around and our Shortcuts & Back Roads for a better view of the options - all available from your cabin in Starr Crest Resort!
