Wildbriar

The Wild Briar Resort is located about 4 miles to the east of the Pigeon Forge Parkway, in wooded areas with great mountain views. Cabins are spaciously placed, and the community area embraces three minor roads off of Upper Middle Creek Road. This is a peaceful mountain area yet close to the action when you want it.

Wild Briar Resort

Wildbriar…Where Luxury Meets the Mountains.

The area consists of paved roads with only gradual slopes, so winter conditions pose no great driving problems here. There is a walking trail in the area that offers even more seclusion and a plunge into nature without even driving. The resort offers a community swimming pool and picnic pavilion with amenities available to some of the cabins - check with reservations to see if your cabin is included before booking, if this is important to you.

If you want to cool off in the water, Dollywood and its Splash Country water park are only about 2 miles away from the Wild Briar community area, and Parrot Mountain is about the same - your kids will love both places. If you've come for some of the famous Smoky Mountains golf terrain, your drive into Pigeon Forge goes right by the Gatlinburg Golf Course (so named before Pigeon Forge was an incorporated township), which offers excellent golf with stunning views.

If you're exploring Pigeon Forge during your stay, take note of Veteran's Boulevard as a bypass route to head up towards Sevierville. Also Teaster Lane, when you don't want Parkway, offers a back road parallel to Parkway to get up and down the town. Both roads connect with your way into town from Wild Briar. Also note that Pigeon Forge now has its pet-friendly Greenway for walking and cycling that runs all the way up to The Island, and down to Patriot Park.

From the north end of Pigeon Forge you can take the road to Wears Valley to connect with Townsend (a fun little town and a great place for cyclists also) and drop down into Cades Cove. Or take the lower route from Gatlinburg along Little River Road - the options are many and the scenic views are stunning whichever way you go.

Gatlinburg is a straight shot from Pigeon Forge directly, and offers the Sugarlands Visitor Center entrance to the national park at the end of its own Parkway. It's worth looking at a map to get oriented and to plan your trips from the cabin - if you can bear to leave it. Remember that GPS isn't reliable in the mountains, and use our Things To Do collection of attraction guides to plan your days.
